The plane shorted the wires causing a surge in current. The power source would have sensed the surge and shut down power automatically.
Transmission subs use SCADA.
This is local to us, and our power flickered a few times near the time this happened. Not sure if it was related...
I can’t imagine what the people in the plane are going through. Prayers for them.
