It sounds like Lady Susan was struggling to make small talk and show an interest in this person.
Looks like an African to me.
So was the offended person a Megain supporter?
I'm Greek and people always ask what part of Greece we're from...the islands, Cyprus, Rhodes, the mainland, etc?
Europeans ALWAYS ask one another what part of the ‘old country’ their families came from.
Heck... our neighbors, growing up, were Italian and ALWAYS traded stories about whether they were from Sicily, Milano, Calabria... etc. ??
“Meanwhile, TOS has been making the rounds to promote his memoir...”
I can’t for the life of me figure out what/who “TOS” is. Would you elucidate?
Thanks
The very FIRST thing one needs to do is to see a picture of this lady the godmother mistook for African. What is she WEARING? How is the hair done? What ‘jewelry’ is she wearing?
If you go to the linked page, the woman who was so aggrieved by the mistake is wearing a bone necklace, has rather ‘different’ hairstyle.... you really can’t see the rest of her ensemble, but I’d say it was an honest mistake and that those woke Brits need to pull that stick our of their keester, myself.
I think TOS is Harry?
For people who watched season 5 of The Crown, Susan Hussey is the wife of Baron Marmaduke Hussey (the “Dukey” in the TV show) who was head honcho at the BBC in the 1990s. (The real Dukey was more impressive than the TV version IMO ... he did in fact lose his leg in a German POW camp as a result of wounds received at Anzio.)
MY! Such a lovely bevy of delightful ladies. How could any shade fall upon them?
Can’t remember what it stands for but he is talking about Harry. Its a derogatory term but I just can’t remember..has one for markle too.
Sounds more like African descent and Caribbean heritage to me.
The Other Son.
Oh, get over yourself and stop whining.
It’s a shame the silence you were “stunned to” was only temporary.
Meanwhile, the inquiring aide is 83yo. One might think a leniency could be expected.
Prince William has bowed to pressure and called it racism.
Don’t really blame him...it’s a messed up world. I avoid talking to people who are perpetually offended for fear something I say or the perceived tone is going to cause me to get a gun pulled on me or a beat down
I just avoid it all.
Why didn’t she just say where her parents were born.
whats wrong with the question?
What a ridiculous thing. I don’t think she meant any harm, and in any case, the black woman seemed to be trying to appear African. What is the big deal?
No forgiveness, no going back after this capitol offense to wokeness. This poor woman might as well take a room in the tower of London.
Interesting...when I read this article (after having watched The Crown), I wondered if it could be the same person.
