A black reverend began the Prince and Princess of Wales' Earthshot launch event today by making a lecture about the 'legacy of colonialism and racism' - just hours after Buckingham Palace became embroiled in a furious race row when William's godmother was accused of making racist remarks at an event hosted by Queen Consort Camilla.
Just minutes before William and Kate took to the stage at the Boston launch event of the Prince's Earthshot Prize, Reverend Mariama White-Hammond - the city's Chief of Environment, Energy, and Open Space - gave a strong speech in which she told the crowd to 'consider the legacy of colonialism and racism', particularly when it comes to their impact on climate change.
As the Prince and Princess Wales watched on from the wings, Reverend Hammond, who founded a youth organization focused on 'teaching the history of the Civil Rights Movement', said: 'On this day, I invite us all to consider the legacy of colonialism and racism.'
She continued: 'The ways it has impacted people across the world and its connection, its deep connection to the degradation of land and our planet that we are all seeking to reverse. The stories lost, the species made extinct, but also the persistence of people in the face of oppression and the fundamental dignity of all of our relations.'
Although no mention was made about Lady Susan Hussey - former lady-in-waiting to the Queen and William's own godmother - who was accused of making racist comments to black domestic abuse campaigner Ngozi Fulani at a Buckingham Palace event on Tuesday night, few could fail to connect the controversy with Reverend White-Hammond's remarks.

Go to a BP reception where you know the “racist” QC will be and dress in African dress to see if you can provoke the “Where are you from” question. I reckon she chose Lady S as QC would not be guided into that convo and LSH, being elderly, would be easier to confuse.
“the legacy of colonialism”
You mean, like railroads?
When people attribute the suffering of others to themselves on account of mere appearance the wrongs of the past become to them evergreen and they become bitter — working corruptions of blood — unforgiving and entitled.
I'm tired of underachieving racial groups blaming White people. If someone can't succeed in 400 years, the problem is with themselves. While the Asian kids are home doing their homework, the dysfunctional racial group kids are running the streets, smoking dope, committing crimes.
And antibiotics, HCQ, Ivermectin etc etc
Without colonialism Mariama would still be running around Africa in a loincloth and worrying about raids from the neighboring tribes.
remind me why I should give a crap about the British royal family.

Okay, but apart from railroads, cars, airplanes, hospitals, electricity, radio, television, telephones, internet, irrigation, indoor plumbing, and a few other odds and ends -- What did the European colonialists ever do for Africa?
And the House of Windsor gutlessly kicked to the curb a woman who had served it well for over half a century.
Over an imagined slight.
This says more about the Windsors than it does anyone or anything else.
Because the UK’s Deep State does.
And because Harry might be here on a visa that allows the Harkles to get our of paying US income taxes.
Like the Rule of Common Law.
They are a 1000 year-old institution in the country which settled America, gave us our language, culture and religious basis, was the model for our laws and (mostly) our system of government, and with whom we've been intertwined ever since.
But feel free to ignore Megan if you wish.
Its the best thing that ever happened to them.
and because the idea is still being floated for Markle to run for office.
She has probably figured out it is a good gig to collect money and get rich.
Streetlighting - You remember how dark the streets used to be, don’t you Reg?
I think Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay) said something along those lines.
It's the quicker picker-upper. Good to the last drop. It's middle finger lickin' good. Keep calm and cry racism. Every little accusation helps.
