Quentin Oliver Lee, best known for his role as the Phantom in the US tour of “The Phantom of the Opera” and an off-Broadway role in “Oratorio for Living Things,” has died. He was 34.

His wife, Angie Lee Graham, broke the news in an Instagram post, telling fans that he passed away in the “wee hours” of Thursday morning after a months-long battle with colon cancer.

“It was the most beautiful moment of my life,” Graham wrote in the announcement which was posted to Lee’s account. “I saw his last breaths, held his hand tight, and felt his heartbeat slowly drift away. He had a smile on his face, and was surrounded by those he loves.

That’s a little bizarre.

People deal with grief in different ways.

Maybe he went gently into that good night, and that’s what she’s referring to.

I’ve been at the besides of people who didn’t go that way.

Anything compared to that might be considered beautiful, I suppose.

Same. Never seen a “beautiful” death with my own eyes, but maybe they happen.

Yes, it sounds like this man had a peaceful death, which is a mercy.

I was present when my brother died, sadly at about this same age. Don’t know what adjective I’d use, but I loved my brother with all my heart and when we were young children I fully expected to spend all my life with him. It wasn’t some weirdo thing, please don’t think that, and when he died I realized I had kind of actually done that.

Miss him every single day. I’m actually very sad that he did not live to laugh at the Babylon Bee. Don’t think he would have shared their politics, but he was a very funny guy and I think he would have loved their humor.

RIP Quentin Oliver Lee.

” a months-long battle with colon cancer”

Damn, and at 34-years-old. What kind of virulent form of colon cancer did he have? Usually, it is a couple years long battle for those that don’t make it. RIP.

I think I understand what she was talking about. Being with a loved one when he or she passes peacefully into the “mystery hereafter,” with a smile on his or her face, surrounded by those whom they loved, and who loved them, can be described as beautiful.

I got to see him perform in the Phantom of the Opera in Tampa; he was outstanding. RIP.

A dear friend’s son died with his wife by his side. She said he had a smile on his face and was looking past her with his arm out- as if welcoming someone.

Do right by a dying spouse can indeed be beautiful even when it’s a tragic loss.

Last moment. The one she remembers. The one that dominates her memory. Maybe she’ll remember others more fondly as time goes on.
