How far did the students progress by the end of K-12?I graduated High School in 1975. I had already taken Pre-Calculus & Trigonometry.

Sixth grade is not too early for rudimentary exposure to algebra. The simple stuff familiarizes the child with the nomenclature so when stuff like irrational numbers comes along it makes some sense.

I was in advanced classes. Are those still allowed? In high school I got as far as calculus-1 and calculus-2.

We did algebra in the 8th grade. If you can pass algebra you do not belong in higher education. Algebra 1 is super easy. Linear algebra is much harder.

How far did the students progress by the end of K-12? I graduated High School circa 1980 ... I had studied (and learned) algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and had an introduction to calculus.
