This is one of the reasons I was against mainstreaming. Kids are bullies to begin with but kids with disabilities like down syndrome don't stand a chance.

My good friend's child with DS was mainstreamed. She had a great experience. She had very close group DS friends she knew as a group since childhood, and then was also befriended by a group of girls she called "her normal friends." (!! - her words - no one taught her to use that term). They were lovely and sweet young women.

Of course, it bears close watching and personal management by administrators - a job which should never be entrusted to any union-dominated educrat bureaucracy.

which is why you don’t send any of your kids to the publik skools much less a disabled one.
