I wouldn't count on it. The current trend is seeing the West send ever more powerful and advanced weapons to the fight. This demonstrates a willingness to spend even more, not less. Should this trend continue, the West will be deploying their most advanced weapons, eventually, and there's still a ways to go for that.
Even if Russia is ever able to somewhat wrest control of Ukraine from the current political leadership, then the West would want to see it as destroyed as much as possible, to make the gains for Russia small compared to the cost. So unfortunately, for everyone, especially the poor people living there, this war is nowhere near its conclusion.
