The seatbelts restrained me.
Yeah definitely a “rebound” effect after a rear-ender...I think the reason for no front dash/steering wheel airbag deployment for a rear end crash has to do with “timing”...airbags inflate (& deflate) in milliseconds...airbag might be too late (deflating) during the “rear-ender rebound” effect. (Need an automotive engineer to weigh in!)
