Not much to be said about this - other than no other 2 entertainers in the history of the world could do it so well, and with so much wit.

Nice Les Paul as well!

BTW, and not to diminish this performance, I saw Brownsville Station (Smoking in the Boys Room was their one hit) do that live. Tall bass player came up behind the much shorter guitar player.

Almost 50 years ago…and they rocked it.

No disagreement...But I'm partial to the Mother Maybelle Carter and Chet Atkins renditions, of course not on the same guitar.

Someone once asked Jimi Hendrix what it was like to be the best guitar player on Earth. He said, “I don’t know, ask Roy Clark.”

LOL, now I've heard that exact same quote, only substituting Billy Gibbons and Rory Gallagher.

There is a lot of 4 handed guitar playing - guy/girl, parent/child, etc. More than we would imagine probably.

That said - Brownsville Station was great. That must have been a kickass show to see.

This is Glen and Roy though.

Whatever happened to them? They seemed like they should have gone on to bigger things.

I think they called it quits for good around 1979.

The tune dates from 1860, but this recording, which is my favorite, is one of the earliest.

Wildwood Flower--The Carter Family (1929)

The Almanac Singers stole the melody for one of their biggest hits.

The Sinking of the Reuben James--The Almanac Singers (1942)

Wow, that is so cool. Amazing guys. Thanks for posting. Those two always are having so much fun.

When the video ended, another Campbell / Clark video popped up that I found interesting. They are playing "Ghost Riders in the Sky," one of my favorites. The guy who "analyzes" their playing and technique is real personable and it's really neat watching him being amazed by this talent from 50 years ago!

British guitarist analyses Glen Campbell AND Roy Clark AT ONCE!!!

Brownsville Station warmed up for Mountain. Heck of a show.

For sheer talent, they weren’t in the same league as Glen & Roy. Two outstanding pickers. Legendary.

Fil is a good guy (the Brit rocker you mentioned) and seems very knowledgeable. He loves Glen. And Roy and Reed as well.

Fil has had some health problems lately. Hope he’s ok.

He’s the sort of guy that gives you hope for the future of music in that he understands it, calls out fake playing and autotune, and appreciates greatness.

I love his youtube channel.

It’s the first I’ve heard of him or watched any of his videos. I was so impressed that he respects the old-style talent and what was taken for granted on Saturday night TV.

He’s in awe of the girl in my tagline too. He puts her on a voice meter and it pretty much reinforces my tagline.

I remember seeing Stevie Ray Vaughn and his brother play the same guitar like this, but IIRC they used a two necked guitar.
