CINCINNATI -- Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is showing "remarkable improvement" after collapsing from cardiac arrest Monday night during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team said Thursday morning.
"Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours," the team said in a statement on Twitter. "While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lung continue to heal and he is making steady progress."
Hamlin, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition in the intensive care unit at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The second-year safety from the University of Pittsburgh collapsed during the Monday Night Football game against the Bengals after making a tackle in the first quarter.

Hamlin's teammate, fellow defensive back Kaiir Elam, also tweeted Thursday morning that Hamlin was "doing better, awake and showing more signs of improvement."
Doctors had told family members Wednesday morning that Hamlin's condition was moving in a "positive direction," according to Hamlin family spokesperson Jordon Rooney.
Rooney told ABC News he could not qualify or elaborate on what "positive direction" meant, but said doctors are seeing the progress they are looking for.
The Bills also confirmed that Hamlin has shown "signs of improvement" Tuesday and overnight.

In an interview with ABC News, Rooney also clarified statements made by Hamlin's uncle, Dorrian Glenn, who said Tuesday that Hamlin had to be resuscitated twice -- on the field and at the hospital. Rooney said that was a misunderstanding and that Hamlin was not resuscitated more than once.
Responding to reports that the defibrillator used on Hamlin malfunctioned, Rooney said those reports were incorrect and that all of the medical equipment worked properly.

Praise God! Been praying for this young man and his family
I’m happy to hear Damar is improving. Let us continue our prayers!
Great news if it’s true.
But, jeez, hope he’s off the ventilator.
They didn’t specify that he’s off yet. They may still be weaning him, but who’s to know.
Praise the Lord of Creation!..............
Any improvement is fantastic. One big remaining question is why they had to revive him on the field twice. Heart stoppage from a blow to the heart doesn’t require that. In the case of a blow to the heart causing stoppage the heart is fine, just needs a kick start. Stopping twice indicates a different set of possible problems.
Sounds encouraging. I pray he pulls through with no permanent damage.
I thought that was a myth - it was only pnce?
If you read the rest of the article at the link, you’ll find that the uncle misspoke. FR prevented me from having all of the article posted in the body. (Not sure if I did that right, I’m not used to posting threads.)
You’re right, it was only once.

Yes, this is encouraging! Thank you, Lord, for Damar’s progress so far.
Reports are that Feds are hovering around his hospital. Why?
If true, your guess is as good as mine.
It will be fascinating to eventually find out what he remembers from that Monday night.
Neurologically intact. Sounds like he escaped Trans surgery
Great news.
This happened to me two years ago and was normal as soon as I woke up.
9-10 minutes of CPR will give him lots of lung damage. That may be the reason for the ventilator for now. Prayers up for the young man. Guy was super fit before the incident. That’s a good place to start from.
