Report: Ex-Clinton Aide Hid Documents
President Clinton's national security adviser removed classified documents from the National Archives, hid them under a construction trailer and later tried to find the trash collector to retrieve them, the agency's internal watchdog said Wednesday.
The report was issued more than a year after Sandy Berger pleaded guilty and received a criminal sentence for removing the documents.
...
Officials told The Associated Press at the time of the thefts that the documents were highly classified and included critical assessments about the Clinton administration's handling of the millennium terror threats as well as identification of America's terror vulnerabilities at airports and seaports.
...
Inspector General Paul Brachfeld reported that National Archives employees spotted Berger bending down and fiddling with something white around his ankles.
The employees did not feel at the time there was enough information to confront someone of Berger's stature, the report said.
Later, when Berger was confronted by Archives officials about the missing documents, he lied by saying he did not take them, the report said.
...
Berger pleaded guilty to unlawfully removing and retaining classified documents. He was fined $50,000, ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and was barred from access to classified material for three years.
His "punishment" was a slap on the wrist...and a slap in the face to everyone not on their team.
A reminder of the multi-tiered "just us" in this country.
And for the week after that story broke, all of the Democrat talking Headz in the media said “well you know Sandy… He’s just sloppy”… That was the operative word all week long…” Sloppy, he’s just sloppy”.
Rush Limbaugh did a montage of it… I’m sure it’s still available somewhere.
He hid the docs down his pants in order to rip them off
What Did Sandy Burglar Put Back? (Jul 26, 2004)
What Was In Documents Sandy Burglar (Dec 21, 2006)
He stole original documents on two different occasions in September, and October of 2003. There were five sets of original documents. He took one set the first time, and four sets the second. He hid them first, then retrieved them, took them to his office, and destroyed them. He had been given unsupervised, private access to those original documents by then archivist Nancy Kegan Smith. The fact that he had stolen originals, and not copies as originally reported came out during House Government Reform Committee hearings.
It's incredible what they get away with.
hid? he purposely stole them
He was only charged with a misdemeanor, and pled guilty. Got a $50,000 fine, 2 year probation, and 100 hours community service. He even willingly gave up his law license because he would have been cross-examined about the theft by the Bar Counsel considering his disbarment.
Aw, come on. Sandy just “forgot” those documents were in his socks and underwear, and as soon as he “found” those documents, he had his lawyers turn them over to the National Archives. Obviously this is NOTHING like what Trump did.
And it appeared that he was trying to destroy *all* copies of certain documents with annotations on them.
Interesting pick. Pretty sure that’s Cohen (RINO) on the left.
Pretty much looks the same. With a sellout enabler RINO, Cohen, as part of the crew.
The only one I changed was Sandy Berger on the right, otherwise it is unchanged.
I feel the same way about Cohen. Exactly.
The DOX IN SOX Dr. Seuss memes have all been wiped from the internet,
so it didn’t really happen.
Lock them Up or Shut Up About President Trump
