I hope you get some recognition for this.

I am curious to know the frequency that Chinese balloons may employ to transmit data back to China or any other destination. It would not make sense to gather intelligence without a way for it to be returned to the home base.
If only I had my multiple radios turned on during the previous balloon incident.

Just to clarify, it’s not my work. It’s the work of Tweeter “StratoCat @STRATOBALLOON” cited as the author of this thread. :D

The facility was still under construction when the GE image I’m looking at was taken (May 2019).
Odd that the launch area is a half mile from the support buildings...and I see no above ground storage for gases.

Why couldn't they be using laser to communicate with a passing satellite? Thwy could be using a bandwidth that is outside of the visible spectrum, and could "burst" data, and shut down until within range of a satellite again.

I would think it was transmitted (encrypted?) by a directional antenna, to an orbiting satellite.

Do the Chinese have “GPS” sats in geosynchronous orbit over North America?

They just relay it on up to the China satellites overhead which then transmit back to the Middle Kingdom in quick time. One of the boldest and most astonishing moves in spydom history. But it helps when the “leader” is totally owned by China.
