‘The Last Of Us’ Actress Bella Ramsey Tells Critics To “Get Used To” Acts Of Grave Depravity That Are And Will Be Heavily Pushed In The Show

The Last of Us actress Bella Ramsey recently told viewers to avoid watching the show if they are not comfortable with viewing sinful acts of grave depravity.

Ramsey spoke with GQ Magazine, where she revealed the show will feature a plethora of acts of grave depravity going forward.

She told the outlet, “I know people will think what they want to think. But they’re gonna have to get used to it. If you don’t want to watch the show because it has gay storylines, because it has a trans character, that’s on you, and you’re missing out.”

“It isn’t gonna make me afraid. I think that comes from a place of defiance,” she added.

Ramsey’s comments come after the show’s third episode debuted and was heavily criticized. YouTuber Synthetic Man described the episode as Brokeback Mountain.

He explained, “We got 15 minutes of two middle-aged gay dudes falling in love and there’s an extended kissing scene. And they even get married. It is just the weirdest, bizarre, out of left field s**t that is completely irrelevant to the overall plot.”

As for Ramsey’s claim that you are missing out, it’s clearly not anything good that you are missing out on. You are actively avoiding sin and the proliferation of it.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church notes, “Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.”

In fact, the Catechism also asserts that sodomy is one of the sins that cries to heaven. “The catechetical tradition also recalls that there are ‘sins that cry to heaven’: the blood of Abel, the sin of the Sodomites, the cry of the people oppressed in Egypt, the cry of the foreigner, the widow, and the orphan, injustice to the wage earner.”

To reiterate, by avoiding this show you are actually avoiding sin and the proliferation of it. You are actively rejecting the evil that the show is trying to perpetuate.

St. Pope John Paul II in his Message for the 29th World Communications Day also instructed, “As happens with all the media of social communication, the cinema, as well as having the power and the great merit of contributing to the cultural and human growth of the individual, can oppress freedom—particularly of the most weak—when it distorts the truth and when it presents itself as the mirror of negative types of behavior, using scenes of violence and sex offensive to human dignity and ‘tending to excite violent emotions to stimulate the attention’ of the viewer.”

“The attitude of those who irresponsibly bring about degrading imitative behavior whose harmful effects can be read about each day in the pages of the newspapers cannot be defined as free artistic expression. As the Gospel reminds us, only in the Truth are we made free,” he declared.

In 2004, St. Pope John Paul II would also state, “People grow or diminish in moral stature by the words which they speak and the messages which they choose to hear. Consequently, wisdom and discernment in the use of the media are particularly called for on the part of communications professionals, parents and educators, for their decisions greatly affect children and young people for whom they are responsible, and who are ultimately the future of society.”

He later added, “It is not so easy to resist commercial pressures or the demands of conformity to secular ideologies, but that is what responsible communicators must do. The stakes are high, since every attack on the fundamental value of the family is an attack on the true good of humanity.”

I’m fine with avoiding watching. Even fine with not subscribing to HBO.

Add me, too.

Ramsey means nothing to me. Just another nobody I won’t watch.

Well this little 19 year old muppet just came out as non binary or some such BS. So I have no doubt she will engage in depravity on and off the screen.

I almost gave up on Ozark after a gay male lover subplot was introduced. I grimaced and powered through it.

***SPOILER ALERT***

Much to my surprise, the two gay dude characters turned out to both be scumbags and got themselves killed early on in the series. Surprised the writers got away with that.

***/SPOILER***

Anyhow, I've only watched the first two episodes of Last of Us, which I really enjoyed. Guess I'll fast-forward through the dude kissing scene. I'm sure HBO has computerized bean counters that can log every scene skipped and at exactly what point viewers gave up on a show.

““It isn’t gonna make me afraid. I think that comes from a place of defiance,” she added.”

Psalm 2 and Romans chapter 1 both speak to the irony of this woman’s statement!

No. We’re not.

Isn’t that character gay in the original hamr from which the series is based?

The last time I watched HBO was around 1980.

I don't have even the slightest interest in watching any of their dross.

It does appear to be virtue signally via plot irrelevancy. By current terms the depravity seems pretty vanilla. Now if a program featured the following proposed plot it would be different:

A general aviation flight crashes in very rough terrain in South America. The only two survivors, both of whom have injuries, are the pilot (male straight) and a passenger (female woke and lesbian). In order to survive they have to rely on each other and try to move towards an inhabited area. After surviving various dangers the pair become, for the time being, passionate lovers and each saves the others life. After reaching a village the two battered but living characters look at each other and the pilot asks ‘Does this go on?’ The female says ‘I think so. It started as ‘loving the one you are with’ but it became a lot more’ Story ends. I am sure the gaystoppo would not permit such a story line.

I’m certainly no prude, but whether it’s a gay scene or a heterosexual scene, I think they are all a waste of time. Just show the buildup to the moment and then get back to the real story line.

I watched the episode in question and all of that was a waste. 1 guy was a hardcore prepper the other was a lost survivor. They were complete opposites, but the prepper was always prepared. In the end, the lost survivor is dying a slow death from MS and wants to die, and the prepper decides to go out with him. I was more upset that when the main star shows up, he didn’t take his entire weapons cache which he needed to fight his way across the american wasteland

It’s hard to watch an American show without a gay theme. That’s why I like shows from Korea and Japan.

I would like to thank her for the heads-up, rather that have producers sneak that garbage in after an episode hooked you. Now that she’s warned us, I will cheerfully avoid that trash!

I don’t care for the gay/lesbian scenes but overall the show has been really good, I enjoy apocalyptic end of the world books, movies, and TV shows.

But are the gay/lesbian scenes any more or less shocking than scenes of being beheaded as in Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon ??

In both Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon they had incest scenes between brother/sister and 1st cousins, etc.

The violence of the Sopranos wasn’t child’s play.

Even broadcast network shows have had gay/lesbian scenes, the show Nashville about country music had a number of gay scenes so did the show The Walking Dead.

The point is, The Last of Us isn’t breaking new ground, quite a few other really popular shows on HBO and other broadcast channels have had equal violence and depravity.

If you don’t like this stuff, encourage your traditional and conservative children to get into the arts. Encourage them to write, produce stuff, and direct.

Remember making fun of the “fags” in drama class in high school? This is how that turns out.
