Bird Flu has been around for awhile in humans but the ability to infect is difficult. That's why you rarely hear about it.

Cases have been detected in China for years mainly in HK.

The reason it jumps is because people in Hong Kong will breed chickens in coops in their apartments packing them in piled to the ceiling. That causes the close heavy exposure.

Constant close heavy exposure is needed because the bird flu needs to get into the lower reaches of the lungs to establish itself.

The WHO is ginning up fear for a almost nonexistent threat unless they plan to release a lab enhanced version with a hi R0
