Once women move out of their 20s, the advantage switches to the men. Women who enter their 30s in an unmarried state are likely to stay that way, or be forced to settle for a lesser man than they might have wanted. Unmarried men in their 30s (and older) who have solid finances, acceptable hygiene and at least a glimmer of personality, now have the pick of the litter. But they are generally looking at women in their 20s to have their children.
A vicious and unforgiving cycle played out in nature.
Women need to time it right or they can miss out.
They women are in relationships with men 30 and over. I bet the flip side of this is that there are more older men in relationships than older women.
Harems of brood mares all following the Alpha male they think they’re worthy of.
Your first point is more likely and these young women are dating and marrying divorced men with kids.

Maybe it’s because so many young men still live at home playing video games instead of living life. It seems like the only “hands on” experience in life they have ever had involved a screen and their pants down.
I worked for about a year in a company that was almost all male, and a hot secretary there had the pick of the upper level managers, and pick she did. The young guys (around my age) drooled over her.
I left, and found out about a year later that she had married a very square, boring, not bad looking, but no stud, ex military guy about my age, possibly even younger than her. I had to ask three times to convince myself they were talking about “JR”.
They said that she’d finally realized that the older guys were just using her for good times, and she was going to find herself left on the shelf in another five to ten years, and she figured that AJ was steady, reliable, and would be a devoted husband and a good provider. In other words, she smartened up before it was too late.

The author does not mean “single vs married”.
He means “celibate vs f******”
Three things:
1. Too many whimpy self absorbed “men”.
2. The why marry when milk is free.
3. In our new age, marriage is almost legally one way street.
this seems to be the only explanation.
It could be even better explained by the lower end of society also.
I know a man who has had children with 8 different women. Yeah, its exactly the sort of situation you think it is.
Anyway, his 8 baby-mommas, if asked, may consider themselves "committed." He certainly does not.
Bad news. A bunch of young men who have nothing to lose......plenty of examples in history. We are heading down that direction
The people getting the most sex are the people who have all 3 of these characteristics:
1. Christian,
2. married, and
3. attend church regularly. LOL
The same for the people who are happiest with their sex lives. The same for the women who report most frequently reaching the Big O.

It could be that the definition of single means they are not dating anyone. The majority of women could be dating one or more men, hence they are not single.
They really need to clarify their definition of single, and non-single.
incel came from a group that used to be active on social media. Then it was banned in the purges and basically doesn’t really exist anymore as a major group. Now its a term of abuse used to refer to anyone who expresses an opinion against feminism or misandry or perceived loser men. Very few people actually openly identify as incels although actual incels in the dictionary definition are probably extremely common. More so among leftwing men ironically enough.
This sounds like “new math”. If we assume that for the most part we are talking about the same pool of monogamous people divided 50/50 between men and women, does the math even work? Or... the real story is about promiscuity and differing definitions of “in a relationship”

The man has a wife and a mistress. The wife and the mistress are both attached. The wife doesn’t know about the mistress in the ideal situation. The mistress knows about the wife but stays quiet so as not to jeopardize her relationship with the man. Repeat infin item. For each man who is not single, 2 women are not single. It’s really not that hard to figure out.
