Alex Murdaugh reportedly held in maximum security over fears he’ll be target

Double murderer Alex Murdaugh is reportedly being kept alone in maximum security because prison officials fear the notorious, once-powerful legal scion will be a target for other inmates.

Online records show that the newly shaven-headed convict is being held in Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia, South Carolina, where he smirked in his latest mugshot.

Sources told TMZ that the lying, pill-popping murderer is being kept away from other inmates over fears they “might wanna take him down a few notches due to his notoriety.”

He is also being kept in the most secure area, the sources said of the prison that has a maximum-security unit for the most dangerous or most at-risk inmates across the Palmetto State.

His single cell is made of concrete with a steel bed, toilet and sink, TMZ said.

High profile. Not shocking.

Of course when you hurt so many people you’ll be a target in prison.

I suspect after things calm down - inmates will seek him out for legal advice.

That said, I hate this guy down to my bone marrow.

He should be part of the general population so taxpayers are relieved of the burden.

He won't meet many enemies. The kind of people he hurt aren't in prisons. I bet it will be like Whitey Bulger, Heap Big Medicine for the man who knocks him off. They are probably building the throne as we speak.

His family was putting people in SC prisons for over 100 years.

They should keep him in solitary confinement for the next 40 years ... if he lives that long.

He killed his own son. That’s a level too low for most prisoners. He won’t have many friends

Except that he was a prosecutor for years. That doesn't go over well; however, as another poster said, he will probably be valued as a source of legal advice.

He didn’t prosecute but 5 cases. It was his daddy who did all the work. Alex just did it for the badge. He was an ambulance chaser pure and simple. I followed this pretty close and it’s hard to express how much of a scumbag he was.

He’ll do fine in prison until someone wanting to make a name for themselves slits his throat.

And there's more...

Alex Murdaugh’s brother Randy reveals what he really thinks happened night of murders

Randy hasn't spoken to his brother in more than a year. The 56-year-old admitted that he believes his sibling “is not telling the truth” about the 7 June 2021 killings.

“He knows more than what he’s saying.”

“I spent considerable time, day after day for weeks on end, calling people,” Randy said. His brother Alex, meanwhile, did nothing of the sort, he said. As Murdaugh’s older brother who is also an attorney, Randy stopped short of saying that he believes he carried out the murders.

Thanks. That has to be rough for his brother- even though it’s a corrupt family, murder is a different level of evil.

Thanks for the clarification. I did some more research and found that you are absolutely correct. I doubt the prison population is going to care much about his expertise in litigating personal injury cases.
