They hold onto at least two diametrically opposed beliefs yet are oblivious to the contradictions.
They concurrently believe that they must do anything and everything they can to hold onto power and prevent Trump from returning to the White House (i.e., lie, cheat, steal, and probably even murder) AND that their solutions for America (grounded in the belief that America is a systemically racist country) are the only "moral" path forward.
Furthermore, the Left believes it can define its own reality (in opposition to ACTUAL reality) and this will somehow lead to a successful country and success at the individual level. This is tantamount to believing that you can jump out of an airplane with an umbrella instead of a parachute and drift gently and safely down to earth.
What the Left believes is sheer insanity...but they are unwilling to even consider that they might be wrong. I know because, like many of us, I have tried to discuss the above with family members and friends who are under this hypnotic spell. If you try to explain that teaching impressionable black children that "America has been rigged against them by white people" is not only untrue, but is going to lead to a race war, they just stare at you emptily...and then call you a racist.
I have tried to explain to some on the Left that most white people have absolutely no racist feelings toward anyone (black, yellow, brown, or pink), but they are unwilling to listen.
Frankly, I am coming to think that there is no solution to this problem. Dealing with the Left is like trying to convince a drug addict that they need to get treatment.
