Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.
Fredo, I love you as a brother but never go against the family again.
Godfather 1 and 2 are on my list of all time favorites, along with Saving Private Ryan, Gone With The Wind, and Casablanca.

The movie Coppola made between 1 and 2, The Conversation, was just a good.

My wife loves GWTW. I personally think Scarlet is an unlikable harpy. And I’m tired of pretending she’s not!

“Godfather 1 and 2 are on my list of all time favorites,...”
Ditto. I had the good fortune about 4 years ago on a Saturday to have 2 kids glued to their tablets, dogs that were just fine being outside all day except for a short break to eat, and my wife busy out of the house with work. Soooooo, I proceeded to watch 4 of my favorite movies in a row:
The Godfather
The Godfather Part II
Patton
Tora, Tora, Tora
Much popcorn was sacrificed that day, and it is the single best entertainment day of my life, so far.
As far as the topic, Pacino really grew into the role over time. He truly is a great actor.

When watching Gone With The Wind, I nearly fell asleep in every scene that did not have Clark Gable. Without him, without Rhett, the story is a bore-fest. Just my opinion.
Some of my favorite old movies -
Casablanca
The Maltese Falcon
White Heat
Yankee Doodle Dandy
The Roaring Twenties
Bad Day At Black Rock

Godfather I: Perfection
Godfather II: Incredibly, improved on perfection
Godfather III: Don’t get me started.
