Yep. And it’s not DeSantis’s job to have to comment on everything Trump does.

It damn well is DeSantis's job to stand for the rule of law and against a political prosecution --- especially when the political prosecution could benefit him, personally.

It’s not about commenting on everything Trump does. It’s the politicization and weaponization of our government that people want addressed. We are turning into a banana republic in front of our very eyes. DeSantis may not like Trump, but Trump is a former President who’s running for re-election. If the bureaucratic state can take out politicians it doesn’t like, through weaponized government, then we no longer have a republic.

THAT’s what people want to hear our public officials discuss. And THAT’s what a leader should be talking about, because it’s one of the greatest issues of our time. Now if DeSantis really DOESN’T have future Presidential aspirations, then I suppose his silence is disappointing, but no big deal. But if he does eventually announce his candidacy, as many of us suspect he will, then his silence on the matter is a big deal, and shows a real lack of leadership on his part. A leader puts the wellbeing of the country ahead of personal animosity. And a leader gets out in front of important issues instead of hiding from them.

On a matter of this importance many are speaking out; governors, legislators, others who care about equal justice, and respecting American custom, tradition, and values.

Seems to me a guy, maybe running for president, or a governor of a state whose at the center of the storm, with an ex president of the United States being a resident of his state—he may want to say something about this troubling, potentially explosive event in our history. But, that’s just me.
