WATCH: ‘No way to charge this battery!’ Electric Car Owner Left Stranded When His Vehicle Died in the Cold

Electric cars have been increasing on American roads, partly because of massive government tax-incentives, and also because of looming mandates to ban gasoline-powered vehicles from states such as California.

While total vehicle sales fell in 2022, EV sales grew by a whopping 65%.

About 5.8% of the new cars Americans bought last year were electric with roughly 800,000 leaving the lot over the course of the year, according to the Kelley Blue Book. And Cox Automotive is forecasting that EV sales will hit 1 million in the U.S. for the first time in 2023

Widespread discounts and goverment incentives for EVs has also led to more demand, with EV sales growing by 10% in January over last year.

Last August, California banned the sale of all gas-powered vehicles by 2035, in a stunning move meant to force a national mandate for electric vehicles.

But the massive problems with these vehicles is giving many Americans pause, even as "green" activists and leftist politicians push harder than ever to remove all gas-power cars from our roads.

Last week's nationwide cold weather brought by the arctic blast has delivered a blunt reality check to some EV enthusiasts.

And one TikTok video that is going viral shows exactly why. Domenick Nati from Virginia, tried to charge his Tesla Model S but encountered some problems.

“I tried to charge it at my house, it won’t let me. So there’s no way to charge this battery or let it warm up in the cold.”

He then took the car to a Tesla Supercharger station and plugged it in but it failed to charge again.

The vehicle showed a message that the battery was heating and the car had a range of 19 miles at 1:11 pm.

Even without a remote kill switch, it seems like the perfect thing for a totalitarian government to mandate on its citizens.

Believe it or not, 25 miles comes in a plastic container! There is no need to hunt high and low for a "supercharger." Nor do you have to worry about a heater warming up the can before you can pour out the power.

800,000 purchased last year? The little African kids hip deep in toxic waste as they dig out the lithium ore for all those batteries are sooo grateful.

And when you do change the battery, it costs as much as a new car. In electric cars, the battery IS the car.

Where does the power come from to power electric cars...?

Its a mystery. Perhaps modern environmental scientists will figure it out one of these days.

When I was a kid, you didn’t see long lines trying to get into our National Parks. Now, the long lines are unbearable. With a few million foreign nationals sneaking into the U.S. now every year...well... I don’t think they’re going to be able to produce enough energy with those windmills and solar panels.

We’re sounding like the left. They won’t even acknowledge Trump’s accomplishments that benefit them. Ok so this battery $hit doesn’t work. Who’s to say it won’t get better and someday soon work or at least be competitive? What’s wrong is all the subsidies and virtue signaling the left is pushing on us. Eliminate the free money and allow the market to work. The product will improve much faster or die a meaningful death.

Should we have invested a $trillion in this stuff and avoided Iraq? Ethanol-corn is better eating it but it’s all U.S. made. Doesn’t leave the country. Farmers have gotta be making more money selling corn to the government than to Mexico.

Why didn’t Domenick Nati go to the nearest service station and pump some electrons to fill a convenient container, which he could take back and pour into his car to get it started again?
