Ah, the incomparable Ballroom Blitz. In 1979, they opened for Journey at the Orpheum in Boston. The people in front of us had no idea as to who they were, until the drums started on Ballroom Blitz. Desolation Boulevard was a decent album.

They opened for Journey in Dallas in 1980 as well. There was no buzz until they played “Love is Like Oxygen.” After it was over, the guitarist broke his guitar on the stage and let off a tirade of profanities as he left the stage. Then, there was quite the cheer.

They might have opened for Cheap Trick. My memory is faint.

Had no idea who they were?! They had at least three top tens (Little Willie, Ballroom Blitz, Fox on the Run). In England Blitz was #1 for something like two months. Journey would have opened for them!
