Not all pits lines are bad. Unethical pit breeding is mainly the cause for the unprovoked viciousness — the bad lines/genetics should be identified and culled through attrition/sterilization

You can safely assume that any breed might turn on a child. Just that some breeds are more likely to turn on a human.

1. A child may not be part of the pack or new to the pack. Pecking order is not established yet.

2. A child will not understand that you don’t stare a dog in the face. Or put your force your face next to theirs. There are canine social rules that can be misinterpreted as a threat or a challenge.

3. A child may treat the dog as a stuffed animal not realizing that it is a living being with temperament.
