It wasn’t in Waco. It was called Waco because the closest hotel rooms for reporters was in Waco. Sure, eventually, Waco will grow enough in another 30 years to encompass Mt. Carmel.

The FBI did wrong not arresting him when he was away from the compound. He did wrong not turning himself in. His wackadoodle followers did wrong in everything that happened after the first 5 minutes. There was no cause for any of it, especially the deaths of innocent children.

Years before, the muslim society had a giant freaky bill board at the opposite edge of town. That was before 9/11 but even then people would say it gave off bad juju.

More recently, Waco had the Twin Peaks deadly assault by out of control LE.

one night on watch around 1980 my Leading petty officer (LPO) who was 7th day adventist explained some of their beliefs to me. One that stood out was that in the “end times” the govt would persecute and kill them and they should flee to the hills to escape. Our govt just made all their wildest prophecies come true at waco.

The FBI could have taken Koresh with no incident when he went to the store but elected not to.

Koresh went for a jog with supporters every day prior to the siege. ATF could have arrested him easily.

I believe the compound would have surrendered after that. His followers were very much weak willed, especially those men who allowed Koresh to sleep with their wives & children.

Remember Waco.

It’s that day.
Shelter in place.
Or place in shelters.

Eric Holder played a role as Reno’s number two.

It is quite clear that from a government perspective, nothing at all "went wrong". Everyone involved was promoted. That tells you everything you need to know. They murdered 90 people, including 17 children, and patted themselves on the backs for it. The government can murder anyone at all if it chooses to. This hasn't been a 'free' country for decades.

The ATF and FBI in particular is primarily populated by sociopaths and psychopaths. Every single one deserves a bullet in their brain.

I have read that the only FBI/BATF folks killed, were killed by friendly fire.

This is true. Their own incompetence killed them. Too bad they didn't all die.

The FBI could have taken Koresh with no incident when he went to the store but elected not to.

That is because it didn't suit their purposes to do so. However, murdering over 90 people, including women and children on live television did. It was the Waco Massacre that convinced me that our government had gone completely feral and rabid. I have seen nothing whatsoever to change that opinion since.

Janet Reno died the day before the 2016 election. Too bad she didn’t survive for a couple more days to learn of Hillary’s defeat.

A interview by Michael Berry with criminal defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin who was Koresh’s lawyer trying to diffuse the siege. Well worth your listen.

Showtime had a series on Waco that was pretty kind to the Branch davidian point of view.

I just finished it a couple of days ago and I must say, I was very surprised at the angle they took, particular with the two primary actors Michael Shannon (Gary Noesner) and Taylor Kitsch (David Koresh) having signed on as executive producers.

This might've been the most "based" TV series I've ever seen, from the opening with the ATF/FBI totally bungling Ruby Ridge to the series finale, where the FBI has totally morphed into Hollywood villains straight out of central casting.

They could've posted in the opening credits: "Screenplay by Timothy McVeigh" because the series they made would've pleased McVeigh very much.

I just started the sequel series. I'll be curious where this one goes.

I happened to be driving from San Antonio to Dallas and was entering the Waco city limits when Koresh was on the radio with his manifesto.

I tried to turn down the road to the siege but of course it was closed to sight seeers.

Frankly, I followed that whole thing from beginning to end and in my opinion, the ATF and FBI lied about the siege and the final attack on the compound. I don’t think those folks deserved to die. The FBI had plenty of information on the entry of Tear Gass particles into a closed area as being highly combustible from previous “sieges”. I don’t buy the “got what they deserved’ narrative.

Same. I was in college when Ruby Ridge happened and I remember being outraged by it. Even more so with Waco. I never bought the government narrative at the time. Still don't.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that none of the government's "official" narrative was included in the TV series. These people didn't kill themselves. Thy couldn't escape. The destruction caused by the tanks had blocked their egress points.
