They became school teachers and school policy makers while conservatives had other types of jobs. They indoctrinated the kids rather completely. This was a stated communist goal. The KGB checked off everything on their list.
It cannot be repaired without bloodshed. That will never happen. Besides, the "good guys" are now seriously outnumbered. This Nation was a grand thing while it lasted.
