In the decision (this past Saturday) in which the Illinois judge threw out the state's new anti-"assault weapon" bill, he mentioned in passing how the rulings the Bruen decision compelled him to make (which was that banning an weapon in the common fuse, or magazines because their capacity was "excessive," both are unconstitutional) also applied to the (upcoming) ban on stabilizing braces, making them constitutionally protected as well. But braces weren't part of this case so he couldn't make that finding part of his ruling.

Nonetheless, this is a very positive indicator for RKBA. If we can get Trump back in the White House in 2024 (and get his head out of his ass on 2A), I don't see that even repealing the Hughes Amendment is out of reach.

It's been 89 years since the NFA was made law. Today there are some 250,000 fully-automatic weapons in private ownership in America. In those 89 years there have been exactly two homicides committed with lawfully-possessed machine guns, and in both cases the perpetrator was a policeman. In one case he was using a service weapon, and the other was the LEO's own gun. So over 89 years, exactly one full-auto weapon out of the quarter million in private ownership was used in a homicide.

And who knows how many tens of thousands of binary triggers have been sold, and they are completely unrestricted an unaccountable, and I have yet to hear of even one of them being used in a crime of any sort. All the Hughes Amendment does is jack up the price of what few are transferable

Let them document the lives saved by this nonsense.
