Not all of these are corporate-speak. Some are just hackneyed idioms. Personally, “verbing” grates on me more. For God’s sake, Charles Windsor will be “crowned” king this weekend, at his “coronation.” He will NOT be “coronated”!

The thing that shocked me the other day was receiving my insurance packet fromm new agent which included a letter from the HEAD OF THE INSURANCE COMPANY.

Standard boilerplate thank you for your business... signed John Doe President.

Also included a letter from the new agent. SIGNED BY JANE DOE SECRETARY FOR KAREN KAREN AGENT.

Can’t get more pretentious and insulting than that!
