I no longer turn on my car radio. Rush took am radio with him on his journey.
I notice a lot of static now when listening to car radio. Something has changed dramatically in the last year or so.
We’ve lost 5 elections in a row, so obviously AM talk radio does not hold the power that it once did in its heyday, 3 decades ago.
Yeah he did. Everyone I care to listen to has podcasts now.
It’s mostly commercials with news propaganda breaks.
Surprising the Biden administration has not reinstituted the “Fairness” doctrine. That would remove much of talk radio from the AM dial.

*************
Yep 3 decades ago people listened to the radio. Now they
walk around holding their phone device reading the script.
I’ve noticed with the talk shows that they have longer commercial breaks than they used to.
It sounds like the host will come on after the news at the top of the hour, talk for about 10 minutes,, then we have a 5-minute commercial break . Then 10 more minutes take a couple of listener calls, and then five more minutes of commercial breaks.
I know radio stations make their money from selling commercial time, but I wonder if you reach the point of diminishing returns. I find it distracting to have so many commercial breaks.
Local AM gives me Kilmeade at 9am, some ex-CIA clown at noon, Hannity at 3pm and Levine begins screaming at 6pm. Nothing there for me.
Much of religious radio is in the same boat.
Solution: Podcast
I most listen to Red Eye Radio.
Solution: Podcast
I mostly listen to Red Eye Radio.
“”It’s mostly commercials with news propaganda breaks.””
It is called greed and why I had to give up talk radio many years ago.
Modern America is always trying to squeeze out just one more dollar, just a smidgen more, instead of seeking a pleasing balance between profit and customer satisfaction.
In the last few years of Rush’s run on radio, he was on more FM stations that AM, here in Jacksonville, FL he was on an AM station starting out but switched to a FM station at least 10 years before he passed away.
I used to drive back and forth to Alabama quite often from Jacksonville, Fl I had all the stations I could listen to his show along the way, I could listen to Rush on an FM station the entire time.
If AM radio is to continue after they remove it from Car radios, the price of AM licenses should crater and some enterprising person will buy them at a more reasonable price and do something with them, what that is I don’t know, I doubt AM radio will go away completely but drastically change.
While I really like most of the hosts on DC’s WMAL, they went FM-only many years ago. Their AM frequency was given to a sports channel.
However, there are big stretches of the country where AM radio is the only option.
Didn’t know about this. Something else to talk with my congresscritter about.

It’s just another step on the path to communism.
The fact that he hasn't shows you that the Dims no longer see talk radio as a threat. That's why they've changed tactics and are using corporate ad warfare against Breitbart and Tucker Carlson, and lawfare against Newsmax, Trump, Flynn, and others. All while passing laws to give government money to press institutions that toe the Dim party line.
