That is just mean. She could have had the baby and left it at the hospital under safe haven laws if she didn't want a Downs baby and saved herself $3000.00 dollars.

My nephew and his wife had a Down’s baby last year. They wouldn’t trade him for the world.

t it’s not a black and white issue. It is complicated, and I wouldn’t wish this on anybody.
I just read feminist Naomi Wolf's Wikipedia page, because she is a lefty who still has an independent thought here and there. Like Camille Paglia, she freely admits that abortion is the killing of an innocent human life.
Like the woman who traveled to Virginia to kill her baby, Wolf used the almost identical rationale of "it’s not a black and white issue. It is complicated, and I wouldn’t wish this on anybody."

Surely not "In LOVING memory of" ...
Maybe "In hateful and vindictive memory of"?

Yes, caring for a Down Syndrome baby can be a trial.
God may choose to give you that trial, to prove your faithfulness, and for you to be an agent of his love.
And if you accept that trial, He will reward you 1000X over, in ways you can never imagine or plan for. That is absolutely certain.

People have different tolerances. She could have adopted him/her to others. Left it at the Hospital. Personally, I don’t know what I would do. I have great grandchildren now, and love children. Looking back at my attitudes 50 years ago?

My wife was 38 when our daughter was conceived. The doctor asked if we wanted to do an amniocentesis too see if she was a Downs baby. We firmly declined and told him she would be loved and cared for no matter what. She was perfectly healthy and is now a beautiful and sassy 22 year old.

One thing we know is that this trauma she caused to herself will have lasting repercussions. She doesn't understand yet, but she will.

"Because She Had Down Syndrome"
Maybe she did, maybe she didn't???
I've seen that diagnosis go completely wrong.
A couple I worked with was told their daughter would be born with Down syndrome.
Dad, wanted an abortion and Mom refused.
The baby was born perfectly fine.
How's you like to be that Father who was reminded every time he looked at or thought about his daughter, he also had to know that he wanted her dead?

It is complicated Yeah, complicated. And it was simple before amniocentesis, ultrasound, and dilation and curettage were developed over the last century or so. Funny how those technologies "complicated" the choice to have a baby that may not be perfect. Not like the old days, when nature itself restricted your "choice" to having the baby.
