My clergy members have been quoting Romans 13 about honoring and respecting those put in power over us. A prayer that’s been uttered in several worship services included references to our obligation to honor the government as having been established by God. Another argument was that countries aren’t enemies and political parties aren’t our enemies.

Both are comprised of fallen human beings who can be evil. Communist China is our enemy. The current Democrat party controlled by Marxists is our enemy. My minister is promoting what—pacifism in the face of evil? Submission? If you don’t fight back against evil, you acquiesce in it, you enable it.

Ephesians flat out says we are to be wrestling with principalities and “spiritual wickedness in high places.” “High places” include a government controlled by evil people.

Thanks for this biblical reference. I intend to use it to confront some of the morons in my church who like to quote scripture to shut you up.
