I'd rather he be forced to complete his 28-year sentence in the Peruvian prison, and then be extradited to the US. I assume it's far worse in the current place he's at than the US equivalent.

Also, I have little faith in the American justice system currently. What's to say they bring him back here and some Liberal DA let's him off with a hand slap?

Exactly- or let him out in 2 years for ‘good behavior’- I can’t believe he only got 28 years after what he put them other through on top of the brutal murder- He is a psychopath and should never be let go

Indeed, he's likely going to be released. According to the article, he's facing some kind of financial extortion charge, not murder.

A judge/DA here, working only on that charge, will give him a short term, or none at all.

At that point, it becomes an immigration issue. He has no status in the US, so he'll be sent back to his home country, where he will be free as a bird.
