Chinese Powerstar x86 CPUs Confirmed To Be Rebadged Intel 10th Gen Comet Lake Chips

China's recently announced x86 Domestic CPUs by Powerstar are nothing more than rebadged Intel 10 Gen chips.

A Geekbench 5 listing of the PowerLeader DP1UI-2 workstation reveals that the PL 1st Gen PSTAR P3-01105 PCU is nothing more than a Core i3-10105 CPU which is derived from the 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake family. The chip also shares the same specifications which offer a 3.7 GHz base clock, 4.4 GHz boost clock, 6 MB of L3 cache, & a TDP of 65W. Even the performance is pretty much the same that one should expect from a 10th Gen Core i3 chip.

There was already suspicion that these chips were rebadged Intel CPUs but this Geekbench listing more or less confirms it.

The chipmaker did state that it was expecting a total of 1.5 million annual sales and that they also have a full roadmap planned for its Powerstar lineup. But based on this finding, it looks like those future generation chips might also be rebadged Intel parts and it should be interesting to see how Intel responds to their official retail CPUs being used by a different company in such a manner.

The CPUs were going to ship with pre-assembled systems so retail availability is questionable. There is no word on what the systems will be priced at but it is unlikely that we would see these chips in retail as DIY parts. PowerLeader is positioning its Powerstar x86 CPU lineup for various segments including education, government, energy, industry, finance, medical, retail, and gaming. The company also stated that it has prepped up a complete product roadmap and will continue to evolve the Powerstar lineup.

Who would even WANT an i3 for a desktop computer?

See the difference?

That one’s purple.

Exactly, that’s what makes it premium

What does that mean?

That means it costs...

That’s how the Chinese roll.

its one of the inherent flaws of Chinese communist state-directed "capitalism."

Everything is political

All spending/investment is based on bureaucratic/hierachical/political decisions

Individual responsibility is extremely risky to one's political well-being

The vast numbers of chinese engineers and brains are nullified by zero risk-taking, no individuality, and zero-sum game mentality

Copying what's already worked is the safest path

This gives new meaning to the old “Intel Inside” sticker.

The name 'Powerstar' wasn't randomly chosen. It's the CPU of the CCP.

Though it’s pricey, computers with the Intel X1313 Endochronic chipset, formerly Miskatonic Lake, has some truly innovative keyboard shortcuts, like Ctrl+Z+Z, which restores documents you haven’t written yet. And Alt+Dagon to summon IT.

Can it write the documents I haven't written yet too? I've been thinking about my autobiography and I want it to have the just right amount of embellishment to it.

As far as I can tell China’s only real talent is taking other folks technology, cheapening it, making it’s life span about half of original hardware and then selling it for the same price as the original hardware.

That would be more likely if you pushed one of their odd key combos, like Alt + Cthu + noEsc.

Look at the tech that goes into making computer chips.

I do not feel sorry for anyone that manufactures in the PRC.

Frankly, they deserve this.

It’s well known that IP theft is an issue.

No one forced them to go there.

This is like a story about a robber that gets stuck in an air duct while breaking into a store at night and dies. Yeah, you feel sorry for him, but he sort of brought that on himself.

I get that our politicians care a lot, they are after all no more than cheap whores for sale and these big corporations crying have deep pockets. But it’s really sort of a nonsense issue where these firms brought this all on themselves and then cry when the ugly side of what (((THEY DECIDED))) to do comes to light.

These firms that go to the PRC to manufacture know 100% that IP theft is a risk. They are doing it for the cheap labor and to avoid US EPA, OSHA regulations, labor laws, in some cases taxes. Then when it’s time to pay the piper they cry and want the US government to come in and protect them? Really?

The only thing these corporations deserve: https://www.freepngimg.com/thumb/fingers/2-2-fingers-png-file.png
