American experts are saying 5 American submarines with Tomahawk missiles can destroy the Chinese Navy. China has no chance. How true is this?

Pretty close to the truth.

China has developed a lot of technology and built a lot of modern hardware but there are a lot of holes in their system

They have focused primarily on offensive technology and they lag in defensive technology. They really lag in anti submarine warfare.

Exactly. Biden’s Greenie Earth handlers would not allow Biden to attack China. The nuclear fall out possibilities would ruin the earth. NOT HAPPENING EVER with Biden in the seat.

One Ohio Class could do it.

Tomahawk Development:

The U.S. Navy began its development of sea-launched cruise missiles in 1972.

The Tomahawk was designed to fly at subsonic speed while maintaining a low altitude, making it difficult to detect on radar. It uses tailored guidance systems to maneuver while at such low elevations.

In 2016, the Navy requested $434 million to start modifying 245 TLAMS for anti-ship missions, making them capable of hitting enemy ships up to 1,000 nautical miles away within the next decade.

This plan would call for modifications to missiles currently on Ticonderoga guided missile cruisers, Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers, the Navy’s attack submarine fleet (SSNs), and the four Ohio-class guided nuclear missile submarines (SSGNs). This program, if funded, will continue the Navy’s life extension program for Tomahawk missiles.3

Tomahawks can be launched from over 140 U.S. Navy ships and submarines, including four converted Ohio-class submarines, as well Astute, Swiftsure, and Trafalgar-class submarines of the Royal Navy.4

How about we stop Chinese commerce, thus cut funding the Chinese Navy as a starting point?

China will probably invade by airborne - lots of paratroopers into a fairly small & remote area.

The seaside defenses of Taiwan are too strong.

We would be sacrificing 5 subs, no? Once they fire, wouldn’t they be giving away their positions?

“How about we stop Chinese commerce, thus cut funding the Chinese Navy as a starting point?”

Go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and see what China makes that goes into a house.

Most drugs Americans need to stay alive have Chinese-made precursors.

I’m sure I’m wrong but I didn’t think a Tomahawk cruise missile could be launched from a sub.

Sure they are, we have done it 100s of times since the first Gulf War. But those were ground targets the question is if they can hit a moving ship. I see no reason to think they can't be modified to hit just about anything.

The big problem is they are slow as hell and have a good radar cross section. Not many will make it to the target but they pack a heck of a punch to a ship if even just one gets though that ship will be rendered combat ineffective.

I expect Gen. Mark Milley would call them first to warn them.

If you like your 3 Gorges Dam, you can keep your 3 Gorges Dam.

Navy uses links with satellites, sonar buoys and the like for guidance. Being there is not a requirement.

As for China’s countermeasures - don’t swallow the propaganda.
