For what passes as a da santis rally or townhall, there looks to be about 150-200 people there, and only 329 viewers of the livestream as the event occured.

Yes, it's a real image captured while duh santis was having this event.

Considering neverbackdown is spending millions to do phone calls, text messages and emails, as well as door knockers to get interest in dee santis, it isn't there.

BTW... who even knew about the event?

He’s a political Icarius. He probably could have gone for a Senate seat and gotten elected, I think, after his Governorship. There is wisdom in knowing your limits.

DeSwamp is like Hillary.

He polled his best before he started his campaign.

I don’t understand why some people hint that his political career is over, if this 2024 presidential campaign results in failure.

He still can run for a Senate seat, and would likely win a Senate seat.

He still can run for president again, in 2028 or beyond.

History tells us, that many presidential candidates do not win the nomination the first time they run in the primaries.

Knowing your limits may be part of the picture. I would say that back-stabbing the most popular political figure in history after same political figure gets you elected is probably the #1 reason this guy is tanking. He’s a snake.

I dunno. Advertising to the world that you’re a weasel and willing to back-stab someone who had helped you in order to cash in politically would stick with him. Proving himself to be more concerned about his trip to be top-dog than having character may be enough to turn people completely off.

Who knows though....maybe people will forget what a rino, big money swampster he is. Maybe those same people will also be drinking BudLite again.

I always thought he should have waited until 2028.

And even had he waited he needed better campaign staff.

I expect them to fight hard to try and get the nomination. That’s how it works, even if they aren’t necessarily fair.

However, I can forgive DeSantis if he gets behind Trump if Trump gets the nomination. You fight like hard for the nomination and get behind the nominee once somebody becomes one. If DeSantis does that, it will all be water under the bridge for me.

Do you think that’s what Trump would do if - on the long-shot chance - DeSantis gets the nomination?

Well, many average voters do not judge him based on the criteria you noted. And by 2028, if he ran then, a lot of that would be a distant memory, even if people did care about back stabbing issues and all of that.

I understand what you’re saying. I know politics is pretty rough and tumble. I remember Trump being pretty brutal during the primary. I just would never get past the back-stabbing move by DeSantis. Maybe it’s a female thing, but when someone does what he is doing to Trump, the man who got him where he is, that’s just a bridge too far for me.....and I was a huge fan of DeSantis. Now I just wonder if he was giving the MAGA base some red meat in order to pull them over.

I don’t think Trump ever stabbed someone who had helped him in the back. I actually remember him waiting off-stage for Ben Carson, as Ben had not heard his name called to enter the debate stage. I know Trump is sometimes a bull in a china shop, but I also think he’s a very decent man.

Bet Jeb Bush is feeling some relief of not being on milk cartons anymore, he’s been replaced.

I fully support DeSantis. I’ve read his book and I have a DeSantis 2024 shirt. I have not sought out to watch even one of his rallies since he announced. The primaries are almost a year away. Nobody can pay attention to every event for that long (unless you’re a trump-cultist who worships him and licks his boots daily). Us normal people have lives to live and cannot livestream a DeSantis event in the middle of nowhere.

I hope I'm dead by then.

My hope is that Trump would do the same thing that I hope DeSantis would do. Trump has shown that he is willing to mend bridges with those who stood against him, so I hope he would do that with DeSantis.

JudyinCanada NAILED IT!!!
My family and I live in Florida. We are very active in Florida politics. We switched our votes to Desantis after President Trump’s endorsement. We all worked and voted for Desantis in both election cycles.
Not a single one of us would ever vote for Desantis over President Trump.
He is proving himself to be a typical, self-serving politician. Associating himself with all those we voted for President Trump to oppose. Accumulating hordes of cash he hopes can buy him the nomination from Globalists and Swamps creatures who own him.
