I have no idea which one was the initial aggressor in this instance. Were the children just normal children and the shooter was the typical “Karen” we have seen so many videos of lately telling kids such things as “you can’t chalk-draw on the sidewalk!”? That is what it sounds like.

“I understand it’s a nuisance,” a deputy tells her. “But I’d rather kids be screaming because they’re out here playing and having a good time than stealing cars and robbing people.””
Given her apparently history of calling the police just for regular child noises as they played, I’m beginning to think she was the aggressor who escalated the problems between the families. It appears now the mother became fed up and went to the witches home to tell her to stop her actions toward the children, and the witch just shot the mother because she thought SHE should be the rule-maker in the neighborhood and everyone had to bend to HER rules.
My opinion is subject to change when additional information is available. However, a hard and fast rule should be do not shoot through a closed door unless there is an assailant knocking it down while expressing an intent to kill you.
That's the impression I get, too. Some people are assuming the kids must've been terrorizing this woman. But, I don't get the impression that the kids in this case are bad. This sounds like a case of a neighbor who didn't like children and yelled at them for just being kids.
