This is a total failure of natofop/neoconwanker planninig and intelligence. They had no realistic idea of what they were getting into.
..I don’t have a dog in this fight....I opposed our sending billions if not trillions of aid, military and otherwise, to which is perhaps the most corrupt country in Europe, and was never on board that the Uke could take on Russia’s military might and come out as the winner...but could at least some credit be given to Col. Douglas MacGregor who said almost from the beginning that all the reports coming out about Ukraine’s military victories was pure horse**t propaganda and lies....
They have every idea. It has never been about winning or even about Ukraine surviving. It is about the opportunity to manipulate a crisis to make people support the movement of money to a cause that can be exploited financially. The wealthy will always use the power of government to protect and promote their own wealth. This includes people in government who want wealth.
I wish this war would end and no matter who claims “victory” because the human costs are very real. The only “winners” I see are China and our military industrial complex.
Beyond the loss of life and all the misery, my children are LESS safe today because of this, our nation is further in debt, Ukraine is destroyed demographically (and literally), and the other world nuclear superpower is less stable with hardliners growing in power.
The active conflict will end at some point, but the new cold war has just begun with geopolitical possibilities for America that were not likely two years ago. The infrastructure of America is falling apart and inflation is rampant but it is certain we will borrow tens of billions of dollars to rebuild the Ukraine.

The growth of the BRICS nations is also an outcome here. For many countries, they saw what the United States did to Afghanistan and are frankly sick of our bullcrap. They are actively seeking an alternative and are creating a bipolar world away from the influences of the West. The fact that 130 nations were recently represented in St. Petersburg for an economic summit indicates that the world is not on our side.

I doubt that...they ALWAYS knew how it would end. That’s why there will likely be war crime tribunals after this crap ends.

In general true, but for Victoria Nuland and Milly, I’d replace the above with “The hatred of Russia is the root of their evil.” If those two Ukrainians hadn’t worked their way into power in the US, there would be no war in Ukraine.

In spite of being surprised by the Russian attack, Ukraine stopped the attack before significant NATO weapons were brought into play.
It seems smart weapons have neutralized the Russian advantage in dumb artillery.
