Well, when you’re giving your buddy a ride to work and you get pulled over and he has a crack pipe in his pocket.... you both go to the klink.
Now I don’t know what you call that guy; a friend, a bad influence, a dummy, whatever.
These “friends” of ours are dragging us off into the dark by the throat. We may want to start regarding them as a threat.
And a great deal of them truly are bad guys. Even the older ones. The older ones hide it well, takes some work to sniff them out. They don’t wear the Che shirts anymore.

I’ve lived my entire life in a smoky old mill town. Well, not so smoky anymore as the mills are all gone.
Anyway, the many Democrats I know are of the “blue dog” type. They believe in hard work. They are patriotic. Many are veterans. They put out Old Glory on holidays. The older ones voted for Reagan (so they can be reached). And they would no more wear a Che shirt than cut off a finger.
And they usually vote Democrat. It’s not because they are communists. It’s because grandfather told them that the Democrats are the party of the average guy, the working man.
So yes, those Democrats are certainly part of the problem. It is infuriating! But I will not call them evil. Because they are not. Stupid, yes. Dangerously out of touch, yes. But I will not automatically assume the worst of them.
That’s something liberals do.

Ha, yes. I live in a slice of industrial America that really hasn’t been a thing since 1985 or so. I worked in a steel mill. So did both of my brothers, and most of my friends. I have since moved on. Most of my friends have not.
They still think that any day now Truman will issue a proclamation, and the nonexistent mills will call us all back.

Ha yes, again. And that’s where the blue dogs are fooling themselves. Conservative Republicans will be off to the gulag first. But conservative Democrats won’t be that far behind. Get on the train if you’re not all for transexual rights and unrestricted illegal immigration.
