LOL! Will anyone notice or care?
Don’t understand the significance of walking out of the premiere just because the strike began. It’s not against union rules to watch a movie or to attend a premiere.
A good mix and I never heard much of this stuff before.
I talked to a couple of college-aged kids and they told me that everybody in college listens to 80s alternative stuff, like The Smiths and The Cure, they don’t listen to the new stuff, they think it’s crap.
Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby are all in!
There are men and women who make everyday paychecks in Hollywood. But IMO the “stars”...as well as producers and directors...can starve for all I care.
I’m devastated! No more woke movies for awhile
There is some good music being produced today but you really have to search it out as only the blandest artists get the promotional resources required to get the airplay and streams needed to chart.
One new discovery of mine is Zach Bryan. He's pigeonholed as an "outlaw" country artist but I think he's a bit more on the rock side of things. Somebody to keep an eye on.
I think FR has at least two in the industry.
They’re men that couldn’t make sports teams and sluts.
Yawn!
Two most profitable movies this year are Top Gun and Sound of Freedom.
Top Gun: Maverick was released last year where it indeed was the top grossing film of 2022 with $718,732,821 domestically.
The movie industry is on pace to only gross $7,933,602,698.00 in 2023 vs $7,506,960,847.00 in 2022. I had do some machinations to come up with a monthly average so my number for 2023 may be low. Also these numbers only reflect the top 200 movies, but the lowest one was about $300,000 so any that did not make the cut is background noise.
These numbers include 23 re-releases and Anniversary editions of movies. They include Jaws, Titanic, The Godfather and a couple of the Star Wars movies.
Sound of Freedom has grossed $53,922,551.00 domestically.
Sound of Freedom cost to make and market was on 14 million so has made 36 million profit when nearly all the movies so far have lost.
What to think of Oppenheimer? Offered for your consideration:

“Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby are all in!”
For what it’s worth, Cosby’s conviction was overturned.
“Saw Sound of Freedom yesterday (awesome movie/documentary, BTW), so I’m good to go for awhile.”
Agreed. The last time I went into a movie theater was to watch a Dinesh D’Souza movie.
As for T.V. I will have to learn when they started to go off the deep end. Perhaps I was mistaken to buy Murdoch Mysteries from VUDU as they are starting to work in liberal messages on homosexuality and lesbianism.
Let’s have a lottery on when a T.V. series first promotes pedophilia? And why does no one criticize the North American Man Boy Love Association?
Technicalities aside, I suspect he never would have been prosecuted if he hadn’t had a conservative message, something to the effect that black men should get an education and take responsibility for their lives.
The thing that always amazed me about Cosby is that a guy as rich, famous, powerful and admired as him could probably have gotten two-thirds of the women he met to fall into bed with him voluntarily...no drugs involved.
Harvey Weinstein is another story. An ugly scumbag with whom no sane woman would want to be in the same zip code.
“Harvey Weinstein is another story. An ugly scumbag with whom no sane woman would want to be in the same zip code.”
No disagreement there.
Another aspect to the story was suggested in the American Thinker. Harvey was going to make a movie about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. Jews started with an initial endowment of three guns. They ended up holding off the German Army for months. The NRA would be proud. The New York Times would be furious if such a movie came out. The press, then prosecutors went after Weinstein and the movie was never made. In fact, Weinstein had to contribute to anti-NRA efforts.
If Weinstein had not threatened to cross the line with that movie, he would never have been prosecuted.
