BTW..the two to three acres is just what can be seen in the photo. Doesnt matter. That crop yields some 200 bushels to the acre and she can pay damages.
I would not be surprised if she has to pay over 20 thousand in damages.

As it happens, I recently watched Steve McQueen in “Hunter” where he chases the dynamite brothers in a cornfield. He drives a harvester, they are in his rental Firebird.

Funny thing I found out about that song... Cindi Lauper didn’t write it. It was written by a man, another rocker from Philly who didn’t have a big hit with it. He wrote it after his mother kept nagging him when he came home from nights out at the bars, asking if he met any nice girls he might get married to.
One night he told her “Mom, girls today aren’t interested in any of that. Girls just want to have fun.” So the song means something a bit different when you look at it from that perspective.

Well if she only has $500 to her name, maybe a better punishment is sentencing her to work for the farmer until she pays him off. Just maybe don’t let her drive any of the equipment.
