Cell phones are brainwashing our children. I just got my grand daughter’s phone fixed for her today. Had to replace a broken screen. She is 12, going on 18.
I also put her laptop in the shop, it will be fixed by Thursday. School will start soon. I’m a good electronic tech, but laptops are very specialized, so I would not touch this one.
Built my first PC in 1982, have always loved technology. But today it is designed so you cannot fix anything and you don’t know what they are collecting about you.
It is no longer about what you want, it is what they have built into the system to make them a buck.
We are being destroyed by complexity, complexity that is not necessary.
It was a thread re: the trans-teacher that got thumped by the LA cop. The poster was a 17 year old F to M transgender...from Nashville, who hadn’t heard of Audrey Hale. Generally just an ill-informed little twit, but pro anything trans-. I don’t think the cop beat down that idiot for being trans-....just for being an idiot. I hope I left him with the thought that I don’t hate trans-people, just their politics, which trend leftist/Marxist. That goes for most allies, as well. One if the others on the thread was a NZ “LGBTQ+ Christian”. The OP’s stand on the pedophilia subject and the school massacre was “ white cis-males do it , too” which I didn’t have the patience to argue....can’t bring a larping kid up to speed on all of the high-profile trans-Democrats that end up being outed as pedophiles.

Too many young people get into the echo chamber; heck, even adults do it, and if the Marxist indoctrination in the schools isn’t counter-acted at home, these kids only hear one side everywhere they go. I homeschooled my kids during 2nd to 5th grade to make sure they had a solid foundation (would have done it longer but we needed my income). Also, let’s be honest, the right has been fairly hostile to the trans community. Instead of having a dialogue, trying to get to what was really bugging them, we shoved these kids into the leftists arms.
One of my son’s friends was convinced she was trans. After a very patient, non-judgmental conversation that ultimately lasted several hours, I got to the heart of the matter; this poor baby had been abused by a family member and was hiding behind “trans” as a defense mechanism. She broke down in tears, unburdened herself, and realized she wasn’t actually trans. One kid saved from the grinder.
The family was aware of the abuse and had prosecuted the perpetrator, but still the damage remained. There are lots of kids like that, which is why the “affirmation approach” and dispensing hormones like candy is so maddening to me.
I’m happy to see any pedo get hauled off to jail. Frankly don’t care if they are trans or not. A pedo is a pedo and they need to pay for the terrible harm they have done.
Try to avoid the “group” tactic the media forces on us. No group is homogeneous; see people as people. Also, when it comes to goofy teenagers, try a little patience. They don’t know what we know and their minds instantly close if they sense you don’t see them as a person. It’s harder, frustrating, but ultimately more rewarding if you can get them to see things from your side. Now you can deprogram them effectively.
Just some thoughts based on my own experience. Your mileage may vary.

We’re in a good place now; it was hellish for several years battling the system. I still hold out hope that the dysphoria will end, but since God made her that way only He can heal her now. I know it’s in His power. Whether or not that day ever comes, I’m loving her as I have always loved her for as many days as I have left.

Absolutely everything in that clip is bang on the money and I don’t disagree with a single word of it.
Especially given it noted that Finland, the majority of the UK (except Scotland) and other countries have adopted a position that is far more evidence based than the LGBTQIA+ activists would like.
I’m all about it being treated like a medical and mental health care scientific issue, not a social theory. I’m also actively involved with safeguarding guidance and regulations.
So I’m not sure where you’re getting the impression that I buy into “gender ideology lies”.
I do distinguish between gender and sex though. Gender is a social/ cultural construct. Sex is biological fact. While gender is affected by sex, sex is not gender. If boys want to wear pink dresses or girls want to dress in men’s suits, there’s no biological reason why they shouldn’t - the objections are entirely cultural.

Fair enough. There is no right/wrong answer here, because it’s all dependent on your point of view.
Originally the word “gender” didn’t actually have much to do with biological sex - if you think of grammatical gender, European and other languages can have a combination of masculine, feminine, neuter (English has largely dispensed with them although we do refer to ships “She/Her” which is actually an example of vestigial gender).
French - masculine and feminine.
German - as above + neuter.
Native American - as above but with additional ones like common, animate and inanimate.
So know gender wasn’t binary in the grammmatical sense - in fact the etymology of the word “gender” comes from the latin “genus”, i.e. “variety”, which implies it was coined specifically because grammatical gender is definitely not, and never has been, binary.
Why we NOW think gender = sex is actually thanks to 18th and 19th century science.
The middle and upper classes in the English speaking world had refined the concept of male and female being ‘separate spheres’, that only interacted at mealtimes. The public sphere was for Men: they went out to work, they socialised, they drank.
Thus, Gender as we know it today is only binary because society was very conformist and there were only two spheres a middle/upper class baby was ever going to be brought up in.
If you popped out a boy, you were destined for the “public sphere”. You’d be taught manly things, like how to farm, how to fight. You’d learn a profession. You’d get involved in politics, and debate.
If you popped out as a girl, you would stay at home with a governess, or go to a boarding school for young ladies, to practice one’s ‘accomplishments’. Pride and Prejudice actually walks you through what those ‘accomplishments’ were.
“A woman must have a thorough knowledge of music, singing, drawing, dancing, and the modern languages … ; and besides all this, she must possess a certain something in her air and manner of walking, the tone of her voice, her address and expressions...”
And this was the “domestic sphere”. These days we’re more familiar with this sphere because it’s where we got “a woman’s place is in the home / in the kitchen” from.
If the Victorians had lightened up any, then we might think it’s perfectly okay to have eight genders - four for biological men reflecting different ways they can be men in the public and domestic spheres, and another four for biological women reflecting the different ways women can act in the public and domestic spheres.
The Victorians defined two “separate spheres”, one for men and one for women, because they were SERIOUSLY uptight and literally couldn’t be having with the idea of women being family breadwinners or getting involved in politics, just as they couldn’t see men wanting to stay at home and bring the kids up.
You are right on gender ideology and the political side of it. Stonewall in the UK has pretty much abandoned lesbians by agreeing with the trans activists that self ID beats biological sex.
According to them, lesbians mustn’t deny a man with a dick if he says he’s a transwoman. That’s far away from the gender recognition legislation that effectively means you cannot get the certificate without a diagnosis of dysphoria, without making any attempt to transition socially, and without planning to complete the journey with surgery.
A man who does all that, gets breasts, has an orchidectomy and loses their penis before getting the certificate clearly won’t have done all that in order to more easily have penetrative sex with girls.
As for the word dysphoria, that isn’t political. It’s more accurate and it puts GD alongside other dysmorphias. They are part of the wider spectrum of neurodiversities and endocrine development disorders...
ADHD, autistic spectrum, dyscalcula, dyslexia, dyspraxia, muscle dysmorphia, body dysmorphia, eating dysmorphia (leads to anorexia/bulimia) are all linked by them not being “mental illnesses”.
You cannot fix hardwired problems inside the brain. But you can in some cases deal with the effects of at least train people to cope. Severe dysmorphia combined with no effective way to cope can lead to serious mental health issues, usually depression and anxiety.
