I’m a bit surprised that the insurance companies don’t require such cranes to have fire suppression systems installed in the engine compartment and operator’s cab.
It wouldn’t be the 1st time safety systems were circumvented to kept the job going.
Worked in aviation maintenance for 36 years, 17 of that in quality assurance....saw people pull that crap more times than I care to remember.
