Problem is, Republicans are always good at telling us what we want to hear in campaign season, and just as good at not delivering once they get in office.
With Trump, we at least know he will try to do what he promises, which is more than we can say for almost every other politician in recent memory.

They are not just trying to prevent him from running; they are trying to put him in prison for the rest of his life. People just ain’t getting it. And my bet is that that will most likely succeed.

Yes, the law did change for DeSantis, so far has him having to resign to run for POTUS.
The problem with pure 100% MAGA voters is anyone who is not 100% devoted to Trump must be destroyed aka DeSantis, some of the attacks by the Trump sycophants are reprehensible accusing Desantis of teabagging, accusing his wife of being a whore, etc.
He may end up destroying DeSantis but he will also destroy his chances of winning, there will be a percentage of DeSantis supporters who will not vote for Trump over the attacks.
MAGA supporters make the point that a Republican can’t win without MAGA support which is true, conversely MAGA can’t win without support from the rest of the Republican Party, without unity in the Republican Party, Biden or is replacement will be the next POTUS.

After posting, I went through a fair bit of the guy’s posting history. One article only, about 2000, but a small and reasonably steady stream of comments that did ebb and flow in volume somewhat, although I stopped about 2010 when the volume had increased enough that it was taking time.
He has had some interesting views over the years.
The comment that I was responding to was the sort of thing that I would normally expect from someone out to make trouble, but I don’t think that that was the case.

Vivek and Desantis have released specifics. Vivek actually speaks often about which agencies and how he has the authority to do it.
Vivek and Desantis are firmly to the right of Trump on every issue. Scott and Haley are slightly to the right. Heck - even the New Jersey General, Chris Christie, is to Trump’s right.
Trump’s embrace of the trans community when he ran Ms. Universe puts him somewhere to the center/left of most Democrats. He was out ahead of the Democrat party on that one.
Trump’s talking points are indistinguishable from the Democrats when he’s attacking Desantis.
And as for the “they’re all part of the GOP-E except Trump” silliness, you’ll need some specifics for how Trump is not part of the GOP-E. They’re all his people at this point. He’s the leader of the GOP and his pick is running the party.

I’ve already resigned myself to the reality of the tyranny we will be living under. There will be no rebellion. The surveillance state is too advanced. Anybody who has the leadership ability to organize a rebellion will be arrested the moment he sticks his head up. To say I’m pessimistic about our future is an understatement.
