Years ago, I enjoyed watching the race on Sunday afternoon. Then they started changing all the rules so that all cars were equal. Every race ended with a major wreck and then a “shoot-out” for the final lap or two. It became boring so I seldom watched at all.
Next, it became “woke” and I refuse to watch any race. I don’t even know the racers’ names anymore. I’ll be surprised if the entire enterprise lasts much longer. People I know that would travel to several races a year no longer do so. Few people buy the merchandise. Racing is no longer a sport exhibiting driver skill and promoting automobile mechanical innovation. All the fun has been removed from the sport.
Hey! Maybe pickle-ball contests can take over the usual racing time-slots. I’m sure I can nap to that on a Sunday afternoon just as well as a Nascar race!

Yeah, all true, but at least the cars are real cars like the ones you can buy in the showroom. Especially the V8 powered rear wheel drive Toyotas. /sarc
