You have that right. We are on a small island community on the Detroit River. YES many many neighbors boat down to Put-In-Bay regularly. Got really rowdy a couple weekends ago.

Capitol is a building. Capital, as in capital city, is the seat of government. Dánica Coto is a great multi-lingual writer (English, French and Spanish).

My wife and I stayed in PR for a week with some of her relatives in Juncos. Very gracious hosts. They gave us a tour of San Juan one day, pointing out the sights. They specifically said to avoid La Perla at night, should we go to San Juan on our own. We never did the night life thing while we were there.

This happened 35 years ago in the city I lived in. There was one place downtown that had off-sales until 0230. Most other places sold beer until midnight or so.
It was the ONLY place in a town of 250K people you could get beer after the bars closed, so it was an absolute gong show nearly every weekend.

The city made it so no sales of off-premises beer could happen after 11 pm, and the surrounding towns all followed suit. Within 2 years, no more off-sales after 11 PM anywhere in the entire province.

Socialists don’t want anyone to ever have any fun anywhere or at any time.

I was there last year. PR was was tame apparently since people were still scared to travel then. I guess things have changed back to normal.

English is my second language too and I learned it from Polish nuns and Trinidadian nannies. Even after 22 years in the Army and many other years in the travel industry, my pronunciation is still mid. Like you say, always learning!

More than normal. We’re actually quite overwhelmed. PR used to be a sleepy destination, only for those “in the know”, but this mass market travel surge during and after covid really surprised us. We can’t keep up!

Yeah, everyone wants to go to La Perla because of that damned Despacito video. But many have met their maker there, after FAFO.
