I'm talking about the author of the original article in Foreign Policy - Bret Devereaux. If you look at the article, it's all political bloviation with a few quotes from Athenians (mortal enemies of the Spartans). And he is not an expert on Greece but rather Rome. So I doubt he speaks a word of Greek.
