PORTLAND, Ore — The triple-digit heat sent shoppers hunting for air conditioners in the Portland-metro area Tuesday.
“It's hot," said Richard Porter, who bought an air conditioner. "I need some air conditioning."
"Real hot," said Jamie Minkus, who also bought an air conditioner. "I was standing in my bedroom last night. I'm not doing anything but, just, like sweating. And then I tried to sleep, and there was just like it was sleepless, is insufferable. I have an older home, so I just need like a portable AC to kind of just help me through to the sleep."
"Oh, last night was terrible," said Frederick Pittman, buying parts to fix an air conditioner. "Our air conditioning went out. So what we did was we had ice bags -- just kind of passing them around just to stay cool."
“I drove to the closest Walmart that I can find, which was in Happy Valley," Porter said. "And they had, they had like one air conditioner, and that was really expensive. That wasn't in my budget. So I called around to Home Depot, and they suggested me another Home Depot, and I called them, and they didn't have any stock."

Short blurb doesn’t say what temp? 100 or higher?
How much notice did they have? A week?
Portland getting just the treatment it deserves. Maybe the heat will wake them up.
I hope they are all forced to shop for one at Walmart unless they’ve gotten the hell out of town already too.
Even the news story didn’t have the temp so went to a weather site and the temp was 100f on Wednesday. Big whoop saying it’s triple digit making out like it’s really up there.

Just looked up the weather in Portland. Yeah it’s really hot today. So they’re blaming it on global warming. But for ne, it’s been a slightly cooler but wetter than usual summer for me.

Hot winds from the east (desert) blow down the Columbia Gorge. In the winter, icy winds do the same. Nothing new here.

But A/C causes Global Warming!
