Wonderful hits like Captain and Tennille's Muskrat Love and Love Will Keep Us Together. Classics like Disco Duck, Afternoon Delight and If You Like Pina Coladas.
But as much as it sucked for crappy pop hits, Rock and Roll was, well, rocking and rolling.
I had this song on a K-tel album!
If it weren’t for the dogs we wouldn’t recognize the classics.
It was a better world when Captain and Tenille had an audience. They were better people than the semi-barbarians who dominate the last three generations of Americans.

All you CA parents, tell your kids to stay away from dry river beds. Having lived in the Arabian desert for 20 some years I have experienced rainfall in the desert. Drownings always occur among kids who do not know that dry river beds (excellent places for kid’s entertainment) do not remain dry after significant rainfall. Tell the kids to get the hell out of wadis and move to hill tops and high places. Where there are mountains, floods occur days later after rainfall because it takes time for the water to flow from mountains to the dry river beds. Where there are caves, tell the kids to vacate them forthwith. Y’all dads and moms, I am dead serious.

But you can see why the punks had to come along and shake things up. There was crap and it had to go.
