That is hilarious. He had like 35,000 political prisoners.
He locked up the legislators of Maryland, his goons ran the government of Missouri out of town, he attempted to arrest the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He had a congressman arrested and then sent over the border to the enemy.
He arrested newspaper editors, dissidents, or anyone else who challenged his ideas or policies. He was the closest thing this nation has ever seen to a fascist dictator.
" you are therefore hereby commanded forthwith to arrest and imprison in any fort or military prison in your command the editors, proprietors, and publishers of the aforesaid newspapers, and all such persons as, after public notice has been given of the falsehood of said publication, print and publish the same with intent to give aid and comfort to the enemy; and you will hold the persons so arrested in close custody until they can be brought to trial before a military commission for their offense. You will also take possession by military force of the printing establishments of the New York World and Journal of Commerce, and hold the same until further orders, and prohibit any further publication therefrom."A. LINCOLN.
Let the blood cool...stop and consider my comment...and think.
Why would he put the comment there?
We cool?
YEP! Lincoln almost started the First World War, when he threatened to sink cargo ships from England and France if they attempted to assist or restock the Confederate States!
Lincoln was a vicious, evil POS who talked out both sides of his mouth! He said, and I’m paraphrasing, if I could end this war without freeing a single slave I would do it. Then he used them as political and war fodder by giving them “freedom” something he did not have the authority to do! His order was as meaningful as America sending a letter to the French Bastille declaring all prisoners as free! But in saying that he was not trying to absolve America of slavery, he then let the truth be known as to why he actually went to war!!
He went to war because he knew the South was the producer of most of the exports from America...in other words...he went to war for MONEY!
