Interesting that you would post the image of Celia Lovsky née Cäcilie Lvovsky a.k.a. Mrs. Peter Lorre (1897-1979) to illustrate the salute - Celia herself was unable to perform it without having someone covertly (off-camera) splay her fingers for her.

Nice that she remained friends with Lorre (whom she affectionately called "Ungeheuer" = "monster") even after the divorce.

Only wish that the writers of the episode "Amok Time" had been consistent with the antiquated English (with "thee's" and "thou's") they used to "simulate" Ancient Vulcan in the exchange between Spock and T'Pau (or did the actors "flub" it?).

That’s great. I did not know she was married to Peter Lorre. I just watched The Maltese Falcon again. He’s so good in that and many others.
