He had ample time and space to get out of the way
He shot her because she made him angry by defying him
Not because he was in danger
They were cursing her and pointing guns
She was frightened
Mom and baby girl - dead
Over “ shoplifting”?

"Mom and baby girl - dead Over “ shoplifting”?"

Yeah; shop like they do in CA; free sh$t for everybody! NO arrests or prosecution, either.

Shoplifting is THEFT, probably caught on surveillance video, but it will be all about the catch-all "over-reaction by police", even though the perp, in this case, attempted to run over the officer with her car.

In Ohio, we have a Stand Your Ground environment, and no obligation to retreat, when attacked.

For the bleeding hearts, and "woke", it's ALWAYS they "dint do nuffin'" and "over-reaction by police", whenever laws are broken.

Time to start culling the herd, 3ven over fast-food-dis-satisfaction riots.......no repeat offenders, and a message to the law-breaking-way-of-lifers.

What part of ‘get out of the car’ do you not understand?

Shoppers, store owners and policemen are fed up with shoplifting……also called stealing

I tend to agree with you. It’s not like they didn’t know who she was, where she lived, and what she drove. She wasn’t “getting away” with anything.

While I appreciate them taking a stand against shoplifting…this response was WAY over the top. Standing in front of a car like that is not a good plan. Even if you are pulling a weapon on a scene that did not seem to call for it.

There might be a bunch of extenuating circumstances, prior encounters, or stuff we did not see in the video. That is why they do investigations. However, I doubt that drawing your pistol on a shoplifter is part of their policy.

Adherence to the law is not voluntary in a civil society. If every scofflaw thinks they can just threaten the police or ignore them your property wouldn't survive the week, nor would your life, much less your liberty.

Don't make excuses for barbarians coming to barbaric ends.

nope. dead over the mom making stupid choices in general. I’m sure it wasn’t her first time.

She wasn’t just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

She created the reason police were called !

she was rude and not cooperative with police and she caused the escalation of things, even putting the car in gear and moving it.

This scenario has played out hundreds of times over the years. Bleeding hearts argue that cops are in no real danger. Especially true in this case as she slowly drove away. He could have slowly moved out of the way.

Thing is... courts have routinely given cops a free pass to shoot to kill anytime and every time perps try to flee. And isn't it funny - somehow the cops have minor contact with the fleeing vehicle which gives him license to kill.

I don't think she was frightened. I think she knew she was part of a protected class. She just didn't know (age 21) that didn't matter. You will get shot if you flee.

Thus it has always been. Thus it will be.

Entering a store with intent to steal is burglary. A felony. Attempting to elude or evade the police is a felony. (In my jurisdiction, anyway.). Inviting a felony stop is stupid.

Play stupid games, win a DARWIN AWARD.

All she had to do was get out of the car, obviously she was able to do so, she got out to go into the store then she was able to get back in.

When a cop points a gun at you it’s probably a good idea to listen to what he has to say!

My personal opinion is “yeah, she was probably stealing stuff”, but this time the “I’M A NEEEGRO” defense didn’t work!
