Sounds like she’s not down with the city culture. Not down with freedom really either.
THis has nothing to do with freedom. IT’S A CHOICE. There is no better freedom than the freedom of choice. If you don’t want an HOA don’t buy in an HOA community. Simple as that.
Hoa has one thing in mind and the sooner people accept this the happier everyone will be.
To keep certain people out. Certain people who bring with them issues that make the town ugly.
I’m about to build in an HOA. I famously strict one at that. I started talking to the HOA and they asked me a ton of questions.
“What do you do for a living?” Was the first one. I could tell them I’m an Uber driver, I could tell them it’s none of their business, or I simply refer them to my I.T. consulting website.
The latter got me to my next question.
After a few visits they started approving all sorts of things that they said they wouldn’t. They only wanted to make sure that u want going to cause a problem for the other people who moved there wanting a specific vision of their American dream.
A house is generally over a million dollars after interest and who wants to commit to such a thing when the neighborhood they’re in won’t commit?
